78. Nordseewoche: Sea. Fun. Sailing.

Welcome to the 78th Nordseewoche with the International German Championships, offshore sailing 2012!

Every year at Whitsun around 1500 yachtsmen and several tourists gather at Heligoland to be part of the “Nordseewoche“ event. The Nordseewoche is one of the major yacht racing events in Germany, hosting the only German offshore race series. The Nordseewoche also offers the less experienced yacht’sman a fantastic opportunity to get into the race scene. Next to the ORC races the “Family-Cruiser-Cup” offers a relaxed atmosphere – sailing and winning without a rating certificate and without spinnaker or gennaker. And all sailors will catch up at the “boot Regattaparty” afterwards to celebrate together. The main sponsors are the international boat exhibition "boot Duesseldorf" and the SE Spezial Electronic AG.
In 2012, the Nordseewoche is again organizer for the International German Championships for offshore sailing!

A special challenge is this year’s long-distance race Pantaenius Rund Skagen from Heligoland to Kiel.

The space on Heligoland is limited, since the island is quite small. This is part of the unique attraction of this sailing event:
people just happen to bump into each other several times. “The Nordseewoche is a mixture of party and racing. The parties are legendary and the atmosphere is just fantastic every year“, said Admiral’s Cup Winner and Nordseewoche participant Tom Ross.

All visitors are invited to have a look at the race village at the harbour: Relax at ALEXSEAL Offshore Lounge, enjoy a drink and listen to the current weather forecast and tidal information in the "boot" weather center..
